Rapid7 Secures New HQ at The HUB on Causeway

After years of steady growth, Rapid7, a cybersecurity company, consolidated two local offices into a new location adjacent to Boston’s North Station. Rapid7 moved in July 2019 into 147,000 square feet spread over 4 floors. The space has a four-story atrium, a speakeasy, stadium seating for the presentation / training room, a coffee bar and plenty of collaborative and individual work spaces to keep employees engaged and to be as creative as possible.

Officeworks was selected to provide a furniture solution that fit Rapid7’s friendly and fast growing culture. We worked very closely with Rapid7’s internal project team and design firm IA to create a fun, collaborative environment that fit a constantly evolving workplace.

There are no private offices, therefore fewer walls, which allows for more seating, individual workspaces and collaboration areas. The individual workspaces consist of Teknion District panel systems, free standing height adjustable benches (30” x 60”), opaque glass and fabric wrapped dividers, Mast Dual Monitors and Sit on It Novo Task Chairs. Each group of benching has a 42” mobile storage pedestal.

When selecting a furniture consultant, Rapid7’s VP of Real Estate & Workplace Experience, Jamie Kinch, had one in mind. “Choosing a vendor to assist us in furnishing our new HQ was an easy one. We collaborated with IA and Rapid7’s team to provide furniture specification, design layout, renderings, project management, delivery and install.

There were over 30 furniture manufacturer products installed throughout the space. These include: Teknion District Workstations w/ Teknion Hi-Space height adjustable tables, Teknion Zones, Studio TK, Allermuir / Senator, American Shuffleboard Federation, Andreu World, Bernhardt, BluDot, Boss Seating, Byrne, Buzzispace, Contemporary Cabinets, Davis, EnWork, ERDL Boardroom Table, Gus Modern, Hightower, Humanscale Neat Tech, Industry West, JSI, Kelihauer, NaughtOne, Norman Copenhagen, Nucraft Room & Board, OFS, Sit On It Novo Task Chairs, Restoration Hardware, Spacestor, Source Seating, Stylex, Vermont Farm Table, Wayfair and West Elm

In addition to Rapid7’s Boston HQ, Officeworks has provided furnishings for other locations that include Arlington, VA; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Toronto, ON; and are currently working on offices overseas in Dublin & Belfast, Ireland, Reading, UK.
